As the curtains close on Salone del Mobile 2024, DEDON reflects on a truly remarkable showcase that captivated industry insiders and enthusiasts alike. The exhibition under the theme "Beyond Boundaries: Innovation inspired by Nature" was not just a showcase of DEDON's novelties but also a celebration of the evolution of DEDON Fiber.

Throughout the event, we had the honor of hosting esteemed guests from every corner of the design world. From prominent figures in the press to visionary designers, architects, and sales professionals, our exhibition was graced by the presence of the most influential individuals in the industry. Their enthusiastic reception and insightful feedback reaffirmed our commitment to pushing the boundaries of outdoor luxury living.

At the heart of our exhibition was the fusion of nature-inspired innovation and traditional craftsmanship. Every color, texture, and detail of the hand-woven novelties drew inspiration from the wonders of nature. Visitors to the booth were taken on a journey where each collection told a story of craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability. Highlights included celebrating the 15th anniversary of the SEASHELL collection by Jean-Marie Massaud, introduced in DEDON EcoCycle Fiber, the debut of the MU collection by Toan Nguyen in Mystique Fiber, and the expansion of the KIDA collection by Stephen Burks with the Lounge Chair. Additionally, the novelties ATOLO by Claudio Bellini and FLLAIR by Samuel Wilkinson set new standards for the 2025 season. By combining different types of fibers, fiber colors, and fiber textures within their weaves, both collections create unique weaving patterns and textures.

As we bid farewell to Salone del Mobile 2024, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited our exhibition, contributed to its success, and shared in our vision for the future of outdoor living. Together, we have proven that when nature and design come together, the possibilities are truly limitless.

During Modernism Week 2024, DEDONist Staci Munic opened her Palm Springs home to the design community. Situated in Indian Canyons, the 1970s home adorned with wedding cake frosting stucco and mint chip stone, had been completely reimagined from the outside in. For one day, guests were invited to tour the home and attend a cocktail party under the nights sky. All proceeds benefited The Palm Springs Modern Committee (PS ModCom), a non-profit organization dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of Desert Modern architecture and design.

Together with Tuuci and Patios Plus, DEDON collaborated to celebrate the launch, which included an engaging panel “Designing from the Outdoors In” and cocktails outside under the Palm Springs stars.

With ‘Spirit of Place’, DEDON unveils a completely new approach to its unique brand. “For over 30 years, we’ve been traveling the world, discovering people, stories and places that inspire us. In the process, a realization emerged: It’s the energy that makes a place unique. The feeling of having arrived,” says DEDON’s Creative Director Julia Shapovalova. Launched in 2022, ‘Spirit of Place’ will be the core of DEDON’s brand communication in the coming years.

To be where we feel comfortable — that is the luxury of our times. ‘Spirit of Place’ is a tribute to this belief and DEDON furniture is the ideal platform for experiencing it. This year, three virtual DEDON worlds have told stories filled with perfect moments, whether indoors or under the open skies. These first three brand worlds — ‘Mysterious Desert’, ‘Spiritual Mountain’ and ‘Endless Ocean’ — remain at the center of DEDON communication for now, and will be joined by a new world, ‘Secret Lakeside’, in 2023.

What would we be without passion? This question triggered the development of the TANGO Collection. Several years have passed since then, but obviously, the question has not lost any of its validity among DEDON lovers. All of the pieces have the distinctive herringbone weave and the exciting silhouette in common. TANGO is flowing shapes and sensual lightness. The dynamically curved back of the chairs and armchairs merge organically with the seats and armrests; the shapes fit perfectly to your body, caressing it.

SEAX stands for elegance and modernity. Distinguished by its meticulous attention to detail, wealth of innovative design solutions and alluring mix of materials, this award-winning collection could only be the work of French designer Jean-Marie Massaud. SEAX comprises folding armchairs, lounge chairs and footstools, as well as dining and coffee tables. SEAX offers a wide variety of exclusive fabric colors. The powdercoaded frame is available in four different colorways.

In developing SEAX, Massaud took inspiration from the sleek racing yachts of the America’s cup. “I love that their visual language is functional but also naturally elegant,” he says, “appropriate to the boat’s purpose of gliding without resistance.” With the folding chairs, Massaud sought to highlight their “quality, appropriateness and timelessness” while hiding their sophisticated folding mechanism.

WA by Toan Nguyen is a contemporary collection of dining tables with sculptural appeal. Designed in dynamic lines, the die-cast aluminum legs of the longest table have been repositioned to now seat up to eight diners. WA tables are available in three different sizes and a wide choice of tabletops consisting of HPL, glass or teak. They are complemented perfectly by all DEDON armchairs.

Nguyen, a designer renowned for his technical mastery and refined contemporary sensibility, originally conceived WA as the dining extension of MU, his highly successful outdoor lounge system for DEDON. Despite their similarities, however, the latter has emerged as compelling collection of dining tables in its own right.

From the semi-transparency of the seat back to the sleek curve of the arm, AIIR’s design conveys lightness and clarity. Crisp, careful lines give the chair a graphic character, while the rounded seat offers remarkable comfort, with or without optional seat and back cushions. The overall effect is one of simplicity and a harmonious balance of solid and empty space.

For all its refinement, AIIR had to be sturdy enough to last a lifetime, indoors or out. Finding the right balance between lightness and strength required fresh thinking and a bold, creative collaboration between design and production. Continuous experimentation eventually led to an innovative injection-mold opening that allowed for exceptionally precise, high-quality extractions.

Cross-cultural duo Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi expand on their native Danish and Italian design traditions, taking an experimental approach to materials and technique. DEDON Collection: AIIR, RILLY

HD Conference + Expo is the largest hospitality-focused tradeshow in North America, keeping the community connected by providing access to industry news, techniques, trends and thought leadership content. More than 10,000 architects, designers, specifiers and builders gathered in Las Vegas to be inspired by brands like DEDON that service the hospitality industry. 
 
Our exhibition of 2024 novelties blend DEDON’s natural heritage with groundbreaking technologies to create a complete, holistic space. Amongst the new collections on display was CIRQL NU, a meticulously designed chair with intricate color play awarded an IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Award in the Lounge Seating category. The esteemed competition recognizes products that excel in seven different criteria, including aesthetics, cost and value, design innovation, environmental responsibility, need, technical advancements, and usage. 
 
Combining purposeful, artful design with extraordinary functionality, our HD booth was widely admired by clients, prospective collaborators, press and show officials. We thank all who visited our booth and look forward to future shows!

This NYCxDesign, DEDON New York hosted the next phase of ‘Beyound Boundaries’ Innovation Inspired by Nature, where handcrafted furniture brought people together under open skies and cultivated an immersive atmosphere in which nature, design, heritage, innovation and craftsmanship entwined.

The open space provided a unique chance to experience the collaborative Spirit of innovation of novelty items such as the sustainable EcoCycle fiber in honor of the SEASHELL collection’s 15th anniversary, and the MU collection enhanced with Mystique Fiber Dusk. Signature pieces including NESTREST and LOUNGE, among all DEDON designs, guide us on a journey where design and nature converge, redefining new standards of outdoor elegance and sustainable luxury.
